5/29/2019; Week 6: Response to "Individualism vs. Collectivism".
It is interesting to appreciate what a culture of collectivity can do in a nation or in its absence individualism, and this kind of things, the teacher must take them into account when teaching. If the student in our classroom comes from a collectivist culture, we must know how to act and have the ability to understand, for example, their way of acting. In many parts of the world, even if they are an individualistic culture, they can appreciate the sense of collectivity in a work team, for example, and vice versa. I think that both extremes are not good, to achieve balance in a society, would be ideal. A self-sufficient society, but at the same time have the ability to help each other and work in teams, would be an ideal society, in my opinion. And the words of the Savior come to mind when he says, "Let us be one".
Hello!
ResponderEliminarYou are right! All extremes are bad, we need to find a way to balance the importance of the individual growing and creativity, with the concept of colectivism, working for a common good.
